Watch the hour long evolution of Mila’s mud sensory bin play condensed to 2 minutes!

Taste safe “mud”:

  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • Water (3/4c)

Stir corn starch and cocoa powder together, slowly adding water until desired consistency!

Tools:

We used various spray bottles, tongs, and animals for transferring.

You can also use: cups, spoons, ladles, trucks/tractors, and brushes for cleaning!

To keep the bin exciting and interesting, I like to switch out what bin fillers I’m using. In this video, I started with just the mud mixture, then added soapy water to one bin so Mila could “wash” the animals. Then I finished with replacing the mud bin with plain warm water for her to rinse the animals (or just stick her feet in). Using a variety of fillers increased the longevity of the activity, keeping my 2 year old interested for a full hour!
